Mr Seguin's Goat
A downloadable game
The goats of Mr Seguin liked the open air and freedom...
They were all eaten by the wolf
This is a text adventure game that was written for Text Adventure Literacy Jam 2023.
To play the game, you need the mr_seguins_goat.z5 file, and a z-code-compatible interpreter: Lectrote, Windows Frotz and Frotz (unix).
The C64 version requires the VICE emulator (x64sc.exe).
« La cabro de moussu Seguin, que se battégue touto la neui emé lou loup, e piei lou matin lou loup la mangé. »
(Monsieur Seguin's goat, which fought all night with the wolf, and then, in the morning, the wolf ate it.)
The game has been designed to be ported to and played on machines compatible with The Quill interpreter (Gilsoft).

Version Beta 1
Game Jam version
Version 1.2
I've made a lot of changes to version 1.
It no longer conforms to the Game Jam rules: I've removed the tutorial and hints.
You can find the game's source code and a map on my GitLab repository.

I thought the puzzles were inventive. I always appreciate tips to keep me going, but the game stopped offering them early on. I either encountered a bug towards the end of the game or I just got hung up at (what I think) is the end.
Like all my games at the end of the game jam, these are closer to a prototype version than a version 1.
I don’t know what bug you’re talking about, but you can try playing version 1 if you still have some spare time.
Adorable little game! There might be something sinister going on, but all is well when your life consists of wandering around eating stuff!
Especially when you're a wolf eating innocent goats.
I’ve recently read some of Kenneth Cook’s books, and it seems that in your peculiar country no animal is innocent.
